Oil spill recovery equipment · Supplied by SATU
Recover heavy, debris-laden oil with FOILEX skimmers and pumps
FOILEX TDS skimmer and pump systems are built for spills from light diesel to heavy crude mixed with debris. SATU supplies FOILEX equipment in Thailand and helps you match the system to your oil, site and response plan.
Who it is for
Built for the teams who have to recover the oil
Equipment that handles the oil you actually meet
From harbour and coastal work to offshore spills, the TDS range scales from the 35 m³/h Coast system to the 140 m³/h Ocean system — each a complete skimmer, power pack and hose package.
Recovery and emergency off-loading in one unit
Terminals, depots and offshore operators can use the same TDS pump to skim, then convert it to off-load tanks or a tanker through narrow access hatches.
Viscous, contaminated oil moved without clogging
Fixed-installed well skimmers suit oil collectors and industrial separation tanks, while the open TDS pump screw catches, cuts and feeds sludge-like oil and debris.
Why TDS technology
One patented pump design behind the whole range
The Twin Disc Screw (TDS) pump builds on the Archimedean screw but adds two circular sealing discs, one each side of the screw. Working alternately, they let the full screw diameter displace oil for 2 × 180° of every revolution.

Light diesel to heavy crude
High capacity in low-viscosity oil, or slow, efficient pumping of high-viscosity oil with minimal emulsification.
Cuts its way through debris
Three cutting tools and a circular knife at the inlet handle wood, seaweed, plastics and rope; TDS 200 and 250 add four cutting knives at the outlet.
Gets into tight spaces
The TDS 150 pump fits a standard 12-inch (300 mm) Butterworth hatch — useful when only narrow tank inlets are available.
Skimmer today, off-loading pump tomorrow
Lift the pump from its 3-pontoon frame and set it up with a free screw, a suction pipe to the tank bottom, or an inline pipe.
Discs matched to the oil
Replaceable sealing discs in polyurethane for abrasive, sandy oil, or nitrile rubber for aggressive oils, heat and steam.
Less pressure loss
Exchangeable discharge cones from Ø3″ to Ø6″, plus optional annular injection flanges for water or steam.

Questions
Before you choose
TDS skimmer or suction weir skimmer — which do I need?
Suction weir skimmers (MICRO, MINI, MIDI) have no onboard pump and suit low to medium-viscosity spills in harbours, rivers and lakes. TDS skimmers carry their own hydraulically driven screw pump, so they also handle heavy crude, emulsions and oil mixed with debris.
Can a TDS skimmer empty tanks as well?
Yes. Every TDS skimmer converts to an off-loading pump by removing the pump from its floating frame. It can then work with a free screw, with a suction pipe down to the tank bottom, or as an inline or booster pump.
What powers the equipment?
TDS systems are hydraulically driven from a FOILEX diesel power pack (20, 32 or 45 kW), and can be remote-controlled from a power pack or the ship's hydraulics. Suction weir skimmers connect to an external pump.
